The Angolan National Association for Consumer Protection (INADEC) finally compensated several customers with 70 million kwanzas in mediating the conflict between merchants and consumers from October to November.
During this period, 30 complaints between consumers, traders and service providers were mediated nationwide.In cases involving companies such as Global and Fidelidade Seguros, when consumers provided legal evidence that they were harmed by the merchant out of malice or negligence, they paid consumers a total of 1390 and 15 million kwanzas, respectively.This result is positive for INADEC, because merchants are aware of their shortcomings and will attach importance to the protection of consumer rights.
INADEC has conducted a total of 463 inspections, handled 237 violations, 88 complaints, issued 205 rectification notices, 8 temporary seizures of goods, and 8 compulsory actions against sales.
In the past two months, INADEC has received a total of 1,387 complaints through normal channels and through the call center, of which 289 have been resolved and 251 of them are in the resolution stage.
