At the meeting, the Chinese medical team donated medical supplies including portable color ultrasound, electrocardiograph, defibrillator, oxygen generator and medicines to the Zanzibar health department, and represented the Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital to the Zanzibar counterpart cooperative hospital. Donated surgical sutures worth more than RMB 300,000.
Qu Lishuai, captain of the 31st China-aided Zanzibar medical team, said that the medical team received strong support from the Zanzibar government during its work, and hoped that these medical supplies would help meet the clinical needs of Zanzibar patients. The medical team will continue to strengthen cooperation and exchanges with the Zanzibar health sector, provide local people with high-quality medical services, and enhance the friendship between the Chinese and Zanzibar peoples.
It is understood that since September 2021, the current Chinese medical team has provided services for more than 50,000 local patients, performed more than 6,000 operations of various types, participated in the treatment of nearly 10,000 critically ill patients, and promoted laparoscopic surgery as the Represents the local clinical application of minimally invasive treatment techniques. The medical team also actively promoted the implementation of the China-Africa counterpart cooperative hospital project in Zanzibar, and regularly went to counterpart hospitals to carry out operations, education, training and other activities.
